Jimmy: Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Palestinain Popular Front and ALL other terrorist organizations are NOT SOLDIRES. They do NOT were uniform! "Betselem" is counting ALL THOSE TERRORISTS as "civilians" as opposed to people who wear uniform (palestinian authority personel); and they are RIGHT in doing so! These terrorists ARE civilians. When they are being killed, they are being killed AS CIVILIAN terrorists. Please email Betselem to get a confirmation on that.
As for civilian non-terrorist casualties - you are 100% correct! did I say anything other than that? I agree with you, as most of the population in Israel and the world does: it is wrong and it is terrible when innocent people die! This is not the CAUSE or OBJECT of the campaign! here is NOTHING I want more (just like anybody else) than PEACE. I don't want any innocent deaths! What I am saying is, when there is a war - innocent people GET HURT! Hundreds of innocent civilians died in Afghanistan due to American mis-guided bombs. Are you happy about it? Am I happy about it? Is President Bush happy about it? Is the pilot who dropped the bomb happy about it? NO! But it is WAR. That is the nature of war! This would not happen have Mr. Arafat controlled his own people and told them to stop killing hundreds of Israeli women and children. When they do it - they force the Israeli army to fight back. Innocent people will get killed for as long as Mr. Arafat does not control his own people and stop the heads of the terrorist camps!
