You need two controls, actually. For the zoom function, the supplied IR remote (with Sony camcorders) has that already on it. Or, you could use a wired LANC controller. I use the Digital Zoom Controller from Studio1 Productions, http://www.studio1productions.com/dzc1.htm and find it to be reliable and well-built.

For a remote pan and tilt, I can recommend the Bescor Electronic Motorized Pan Head (MP-101), which I got from B & H Photo, http://www03.bhphotovideo.com/defaul...ED84 24232D0.

Both come with extension cords, which you may as well get from the beginning- they add a great deal of flexibility to the setup, they're not that expensive and you'll want them sooner or later...
