The USA is probably more violent than Finland, but less violent than other places in the world...Hummm...Let's take a look:

For example, Finland has a population of 5,181,115 and had an estimated 27,323 violent offences reported (manslaughter, murder, homicide and assault). That's about 1 violent offence per 190 people.

The USA, God bless Her, had a (based on 2000 data) population of 282,124,631 and an actual (as opposed to reported) figure, based on data gathered from victims (instead of law enforcement entities), of 2,186,700 violent crimes. That's about 1 violent offence per 130 people.

That's interesting.
