I've owned guns for 29 years. Got my first one at the age of 6. And none of them.... not a single one..... has ever jumped up and killed a person.

I'm fucking proud of you dude...Let me tell you a little story..After my father passed away when I was 11 I used to snoop around and used to play with his shot gun..By this time I had already learned to shoot smaller caliber guns with my uncle...When you teach your child about fire arms and how to respect and use them properly the curiosity Fades QUICK... My family always hid that shit from me instead of teaching me..This created a drive to be curious..
If my parents were more open and explained things to me about the gun and made me used to it,I would not have been curious..I taught my kids how to shoot when they were young and we go to target practice once in a great while...My kids dont see guns as people killers.. They see them as a hobbie, And thats exactly what they define in our household. Shooting is an art form and there are so many techniques and I find it very intresting..
My kids can give a shit about my guns and they have NO CURIOSITY what so ever..They dont ask to hold or see them Like I did when I was a kid. I proved my wife wrong.. MOst my family cant stand the fact I have guns in the house...It all comes down to the parent and how you teach your children...
Same with a family that went out and bought quads..They had no clue how to ride..They go out and the dad had to be hospitaized cause he flew over a canyon.. Now you have lawsuits so they start Banning shit...
You can't buy a 2-stroke quad anymore over 350cc's WHY cause there too dangerous.. They banned the Quadzilla 5oo cause it had too much power..Too many people sued Suzuki so they stopped production..THESE people were never taught how to ride.. It is not fair for others who are experienced that don't have the option anymore to go out and buy a 500.

Weather it's a Gun,Knife or pots and pans.. The gun is NOT the issue here.. The Problem is this Kid's backround..More then likely His parents are fucked up...
None of my firearms in the house are loaded nor have clips in them.. None have firing pins either..I'm finatical with firearms..And my kids see that.. And you know what?? They will be the same when they grow upand have pure respect for them..IF this kid did not have a gun who would have turned to something else..Perhaps a Bomb...
