We attend every year (my wife and kids live in Kingman about 35 miles from Laughlin and my wife used to work in laughlin (hell I did several years ago too).
There have always been fights and rowdiness, but this is the first time something like this has happened.
I was planning on hitting Laughlin to get some flashing biker babe content (titties are constantly on display during the River Run ;))) but we decided to avoid the festivities this weekend.
Everyone has always feared something like this might happen, but this is the first time something like this has happened. It's too bad as it may hurt the event next year and the River Run is always a huge event for Laughlin 9which slows down tourist-wise in the summer time due to the extreme heat (usually gets 10-12 hotter in Laughlin than Las Vegas.
My sister still works in Laughlin at the Ramada Express but was luckily off work when this happened (though the shooting was at Harrah's which is further up the road from the other 8 casinos).
