My humble opinion.

Steve, you've done what you could in good faith for Tawnee. You created her. Yes, she was a cute teen, but that's all she was. You took her natural qualities and created the internet sensation, the market, and the money from her and for her and yourself which is what business is all about.

She is not 18 any more. There would come a time when she would have to go anyway, because she wouldn't be able to be in the teen niche. She's 22 now and you have loads of content to keep the site running indefinitely. You have the name and the market cornered as far as her images are concerned.

Will other companies pick her up? Definitely. Many won't because she's not 18 any more and some won't want bad blood between you and them. Will she be able to make the same bank she does now? I doubt it. The right place at the right time usually doesn't occur more than once when it comes to a phenomenon like the one you create around her. The timing was right, she had the right look. Repeating that is nearly impossible. There are many other cute 18 year old brunettes every day putting up sites. You have been searching for another Tawnee for a long time now and maybe you have her in your new as yet unrevealed entourage of girls.

What many are missing here is that millions in gross is not the same as net profit. You have employees to pay, your promo costs, bandwidth costs, other models to pay, affiliates to pay, and finally yourself. That stuff costs millions for a company like yours.

She made over $100k last year for modeling. That has to be the easiest job in the world because it's not something you have to do every day. She's been making this kind of money for 4 years now. She has no debt, a house, life is good. Most of us were making minimum wage working our asses off when we were her age. She skipped all that and doesn't realize that she's actually very fortunate.

Maybe you can offer her a little more and/or ask her to talk it over with her parents who may be able to see where you're coming from better provided that you let them know how things run.

I realize this thread may be one-sided and this post is going on what you've posted. At the same time, you've been pretty transparent with friends as well as strangers (like us on GFY) as to how you conduct business, so I have little reason to doubt what you've written here.

Sooner or later you would have had to let her go. I guess maybe it will be sooner than later.
