IMO, there seems to be a big difference between the traditional blog and the new, standard porn blogs. Will porn blogs that resemble freesites, toplists etc. be as successful as the 'real' blogs?

I think the surfer will decide. If you make your pornblog full of USEFUL unique information/content related to your topic then they will come back. No annoying popups or lies and exaggerated claims. Don't try to sell them something that is offtopic of your pornblog. You may be able to fool them into the first or second visit but if all they find is crap and attempts to sell them and not that unique content (talk to your surfer!) that they are looking for then they ain't coming back. I think Google will see through it too
