The ideal situation would be if nobody but the police had guns (as it is mostly the case in Europe). This in mind, the situation in the US is majorly fucked, exactly because everybody has (a) gun(S) and some people a lot of them.
Nobody in their right mind here will tell me they prefer to be in a society where every fucker out there can buy a gun to a society where only the cops have them.
Unfortunately the situation in the States won't change, so I can't judge the people who actually need to carry a gun because of the inherent danger associated with their business (like mobsters for example
) For all others like me, I just prefer to keep out of situations where even a remote possibility of something ivolving guns is present. Again, unfortunately, in the US even this is no guarantee of one's safety, since some fucker can shoot you on the street for the 20 in your wallet.
Again, the gun situation in the US is majorly fucked, and that situation and culture is not going to change, which is pretty bad.
