I was in Italy from December till last month so I was able to experience the whole conversion from Lire to Euro. You would think that when they converted the currency that they would keep prices at stores, etc. the same, but no...when they switched the currency it seemed that every store, gas station, bar, etc. jacked their prices up thinking that most people would not notice because of the currency conversion. Prices in general seemed to go up about 10%
