I didn't put it together with Lustiger being from France, until you said something.
It also goes along with the "Glory of the Olive" thing, as the olive branch is supposedly a Biblical symbol for the Jewish race. Of course it could also mean spain or something like that.
BUT, Lustiger retired... Can they still make him pope?

I'm not sure about that, they're babling on the different network but no one knows as the rules area very complicated and must follow a certain protocol.
However, he may have been retired to avoid him being in the race to be the Pope. They do say that Lustiger remains a cardinal, however, and can still vote in any papal conclave until he turns 80. So who knows?
