depends on the type you want, how much you'll pay, and how you'll pay.
If the big guys don't know you, don't expect to not pay up front.
Expect to pay per click or exit pop.
If you're not talking to a big guy, you'll probably be buying exit or some other popup or popbehind. you better know what that is worth compared to a click.
