They've done another one of those surveys that are anything but scientific, Voyeurwebbers. This one was conducted in Britain by a giant gasoline firm called Jet. It might help U.S. Voyeurwebbers to think of them as the Chevron gas stations of England.
The firm conducted research on 2,000 people from one end of Britain to the other trying to find the happiest people in the country, according to Sky News.
Eye has no idea why Jet wanted to find the happiest people in Britain, but he could have saved the firm a fortune in finding them with two words: The Rich. Unfortunately, that's not what the research showed.
Instead, Jet claims the research showed that married women in their mid-50s living in the city of Leeds and who have two children, are the happiest Britons.
It also allegedly showed that one in every five people were unhappy with their lives. Women were generally happier than men, with housewives and mothers who stayed at home to look after their children at the top of the happiness heap.
Eye is beginning to get the sneaky suspicion that this research was not conducted by Jet, but by the Anglican Church. Somehow Eye doesn't see this particular group as the happiest, not that there's anything wrong with their lifestyles, ages or where they live.
As Eye sees it, the happiest people are the young adults who have their entire lives ahead them, including their sex lives, and are at the peak of the physical fitness, but who lack the experience of age to realize how unhappy they should be.
On the other hand, Eye completely agrees with the researchers' determination of who the unhappiest people in Britain were: Divorced, childless, male computer workers from Southampton, England. That one's a no-brainer, it's true all over the world ... not counting the Southhampton bit, that is.
