Actually Tera, if your friend really does want to get into the business, I'd suggest that the first thing they do is find someone, perhaps yourself, who can explain how traffic actually works.
A few years ago when I started, I learned to do free sites, then avs sites, never made a gallery page until about 8 months after I started, since I never saw how it would be worth my time.
I didn't think about the web within the web until maybe 2-3 months after I started, and by then I'd built alot of sites and didn't even know where I had stashed them all to correct my mistakes.
More importantly than the way you start out, is the level of organization and thought you put into the entire setup. Keeping track of what pages are where, who the sponsors are on those pages, where the traffic is coming from, and linking them to your other pages by multiple methods is a key to success in the world of the reseller.
The days when you could toss a few Yahoo sites up, do some avs work, and get some good listings on Tommys and GG to pull in a five figure income a month on part time work are gone, and the smartest webmasters will realize that, the new ones will realize that when people who've been around awhile talk like it's that easy, that it's just not any more.
So tell your friend to study the system first Tera, and then once he's got the reseller thing down pat, and got some traffic of his own to play with, then would be the time to start looking at a paysite, NOT before. This I've said for years.
