I really don't usually read the whole thread of many of any posts at GFY as they are usually gibberish - This however is a good thread that has some great arguments about a topic I LOVE.
MMA is an amazing sport, up until a year ago I watched every UFC/PRIDE for 3 years consistently and rented the older ones I hadn't seen. Unfortunately I haven't watched the last year... This and it being brough up a few weeks ago has more than renewed my interest - I was curious about the Liddel/Corture fight... And to be honest not suprised Chuck won, more than anything because Corture is just getting old. How long can someone like him fight at that level without age becoming a factor?
I think the sport has evolved so dramatically in the last 5-6 years compared to how it used to be that boxing will be a god damn joke by the time all of our kids are adults and will be looked at as we view wrestling right now. Maybe not QUITE that low, but it will be viewed as less of a gauge of a fighter's ability and a world class boxer (Heavy-Weight) against a Light Heavyweight UFC champ would still be something where the odds would be skewed heavily towards the UFC champ.
That said, the one thing that bothers me about the UFC as of late... and I haven't followed it much is I felt Tito
A) Threw that match against Corture
B) Got so over-cocky that he lost under-estimating Corture
C) Had such a street brawler fashion to him the lack of MMA started to show
Opinions?
Oh, and why allude over and over and over to the 3rd degree BB questions. Simply say you mis-stated it and let it go. I am curious as to why you continue to avoid the subject like a plague and don't take you seriously nor will I until you answer it.
Oh, and you can all kick my ass - hahahahahahaah ....
