There's the list of known 3rd Degree BB in BJJ, that you said you were on.
Unless you are Brazillian, you aren't on that list.
I've checked the 3 or 4 non brazillians on there, they aren't you, since most of them have pictures. It takes alot to just make blue belt in BJJ, 3rd Degree BB status is god like for BJJ'ers. Ryron and Rener Gracie, Dig's present and my former instructors are 3rd Degree BB's. My current instructor Mauricio Villardo is a 1st Degree BB under Royler Gracie, he's been training since 15 and just got his belt in 1997.
BJJ is one of the few and last real Martial Arts where we don't have fake Black Belts like Tae Kwon Do, Kung Fu, whatever. Your belt signifies your level. At the level you say you are, you would be known in the BJJ circles. When I visited my family in San Diego, I made it a top priority to train with Roy Harris, one of the men listed as a 3rd BB. If you were at his level, you would make me look like a kid who just learned how to crawl.
Some very talented grapplers are not BJJ trained. It doesn't mater, but trying to look good by saying you are something you aren't, well, that doesn't put you in a good light.
I'm done for the night. If you do make the fight, I'll work your guard with you, but I'll also be the first to tell you if you aren't ready for him.
