I have several Canadian clients and affiliates from all over the world. NEVER have any of them assumed that monies exchanged would be anything other than USD unless it was specifically spelled out ahead of time.
Fact is, when I joke around if they would like to be paid in CDN the response has always been NO!

Why is that even relevant? It is one issue they have worked out. They agree on the price just not when it is supposed to be paid in full or what it was for.
If it was me I'd offer him the content with all documentation for what he has already paid since he is not happy with some of the content. If he said no way I'd give him a complete refund less shipping charges upon return of the content. But, its not my place to decide.
