Mind you even then it can depend a little on the trading. Set up properly, 7 days of paid for traffic can take the trades to a higher level if you run that type of site but of course the traffic is unlikely to be as good.

In the early days of Ifreinds you could make far more from bought traffic sent to a TGP optimized for iFreinds than it would cost if the traffic was half decent - and of course the traffic that didn't convert would help trades. Shame those days are over.
