Europa is a really interesting place to look.
Why bacteria though? Why should life based on DNA evolve elsewhere? Why not RNA or who knows what? How many molecules might possibly provide the solution to "self-replicating molecule"?
Unless you believe in the "seeded from asteroids" hypothesis but then you still have to account for where else it is coming from and why there?
So you need a self-replicating molecule .. that must be part of the definition of life. It could go anywhere from there.
It seems that lfie has only evolved once on life and that all life forms currently on the planet are evolved from that one life form. One abiogenesis event in 5.5-6 billion years. That's pretty damned lucky. I would think we should bet against it happening on a close neighbor.
