it's the EXACT same thing as people outside of the industry seeing porn as EASSYYY money. well tell me, is it? is it really THAT easy to make money in porn?

mailing is a very complex and risky operation: where your costs are high and so are the possible number of problems you can encounter.

If you live in the USA or countries with strong anti-spam laws, there's another problem. And then you have Aol, Hotmail, Yahoo, Earthlink going out of their way to sue people, even if it means spending 500 000$ in order to sue for 50 000$

I know quite a few "mailers", and most of these guys wish they could make more than 200-300$ a day with what they have.

also, don't forget that you need to pay for your hosting, your bp hosting, your email lists, your proxies, your headers, and whatever else costs you have

people message me all the time asking me what mailing consists of, and I have one thing to say to them: unless you have a big load of cash and don't mind the risks of being sued and/or going to jail, this is def NOT for you.

I have seen people "start" spamming, and then drop it after 1 month because they have no idea what they are doing.

And let's talk about filters for a second: do you guys have ANY idea how powerful filters have become? Sure it was easy to make thousands a day mailing back in 1999, but we are not there anymore.
Filters are like brick walls, they check every little spec of detail on your setup and message, and tell you to fuck off.

And finally there comes the situation where you decide to make your "spamming" operation "clean" and "legal"... Well bad enough people didnt get through the first spamming phase, but now they want to be law-compliant, which is much more expensive.

Bottom line: only those who know what they are doing actually make the money... just like in porn... and yet how many people do we see that don't really know what they are doing, simply trying to duplicate peoples stuff, and praying to get a few refferals to make some extra money that way?

Mailing is a full time job... Just ask any of the big guys (if you can find out who they are ;)

You're right about the last part, mailing is for people with money to invest and the know how to get started.

You're talking about kids with a cracked copy of darkmailer, some shitty lists and a couple hundred bucks to spend. Anythony and Nick talking about the guys with 25 direct mailing servers and the know how to get past any filter. Of course it's hard to be successful when you don't have the tools and you have no clue what you're doing. Of course it's hard to get into mailing when you don't have the connections. It's not like TGP where dummy-proof instructions are spelled out for everyone on ten thousand resource sites, it's never been like that. The fact is you can make basically just as much money mailing now as you could in the past, you just have to know what you're doing.
