Correct me if I am wrong, but....
Say I created two moo.jpg 's on May 23rd.. I uploaded the first one on june 1st for the ad campaign.
I then upload the second moo.jpg after the ad campaign starts effectively overwriting the first moo.jpg
Wouldn't the last modified date only show May 23rd since it was created and last modofied on May 23rd on my system?
Or would apache open the file all by itself, change the modified date on it then save it? Unlikely.
