Archive.org caches the script on the page, not the results.
When you visit sites that are on Archive.org, you get the cached script(just the script, not the results), BUT, the javascript results are pulling from the current database that the script designates.
This is why the banner still rotates in the 'archive'
If he had that javascript on there in 2002, you would get the 2005 data using Archive.org
Now, if you don't understand how this works, you might think about getting off his sack until you do.
