there is a massive difference between South Africa and the Ukraine.... the Urkraine split from Soviet Russia who already left them weak and they had to endure a painfull transition from soviet communism to a free market economy, create a whole new legal system, tax system, constitution etc etc etc. Their economy is growing quite fast by any standard or measurement.
South Africa on the other hand, simply had a successful country and economy handed to them, which quickly proceeded to be the home of 2 of the most dangerous cities on the planet and whose economy plummeted into complete darkness.
