What you SHOULD do, though, is hit the various resource sites and read up on gallery tutorials. Make galleries, post them on boards for constructive criticism and don't be afraid to get an occasional bashing. The thicker your skin grows, the better your chances will be of making GOOD money in this industry.

hey, someone with some sense. there's no way a noob should do all that for his first venture into galleries. it's terrible advice.
the domain and host are obviously necessary but that's it.
learn what works and doesn't work for you before you blow a few grand.
and you do not need to promote what you like. in fact that's really bad advice. more than likely your fetish is in the minority. promote what sells. i hate fags but i love the signups they bring in
