Because there are too many other pretty girls around and too much competition. Sometimes girls will see a girl who is really pretty and then get depressed. Ummm, I'm speaking from experience.
No matter how pretty you are there will always be someone prettier or hotter, it's very depressing...
so sometimes you give up and think you can't get any better.
