in the big picture of things, the death toll and loss was not big deal. more people died from starvation on 4/20/99 then in Columbine High School.
but what came FROM their actions was. had a huge effect on school rules and what was accepted. clear/see-thru backpacks went into play, increase of metal detectors, etc.
it was a horrid event, true. the media blew it out or proportions. feeding off of the fear and stupidity of americans. when it first happened the media portrayed Eric and Dylan as kids geeky loners, who were picked on at school , which was later to be proved FALSE. they both had histories and mental and emotional problems.
they carefully planned out their attack for months. they aquired massive amounts of ammo and guns before hand and even sought out certain students to kill. it was brillant I think.
