The issue is that no matter where people are, we have personal budgets. We know that in a certain week we'll have certain expenses. Gas prices were an accepted part of day to day living. However, in order to pay for fuel we lose out on other components of life.

Also In Europe they have publica transportation because those countries are so small. Most publica transportation in the Big Cities is a joke and outside of the cities it's NON-EXISTANT. There aren't any buses where I live. You either drive or walk. You could ride a bike but our roads aren't made for them and you are very likely to get killed. Hell a lot of times you have to go into the next town to get things or do thinks like go to the movies and that's 20 miles away. In America you HAVE to have a car.
