It wasn't the lack of ethics which struck me most about the search engine thing, but that it is the kind of thing a complete noob would do and also that techniques like that haven't really worked since the glory days of Alta Vista, 7 or 8 years ago. You want a sponsor to be honest, but also to understand the business some. These people lose on all counts...
