You are absolutely correct, between the girl and I, we blow an ounce a week.
To inform you, if I sat on my porch here in California and drank beer, a cop would surely drive by and ask me what I am doing. In Kansas you may be allowed to sit out front and drink beer all day, but not here. IN my neighborhood you can't even throw a "Garage sale" without a permit.
Regarding the "Wine with Dinner" facade... you don't have wine with dinner as you said. From the above, its sitting on the porch with a beer. When's the last time you had a glass of wine with dinner?
Back to the drinking on porch thing.
Last night I sat in an Upscale security guard Burbank Apartment complex smoking bowls with friends on a patio overlooking the pool. Security guard smiling and grinning.
Not sure on the stereotypes regarding us in Cali, you guys in Kansas surely seem to throw stereotypes far judging from posts.
But alas, here in Cali cops prefer pot smokers to drunks, and are way more apt to let you go for a joint than a can of beer. While this may not be provable in stats or anything I can post, its known amongst people here.
