I dunno, I think the dude prolly got caught. I think COPS or whatever show just made that last scene because the general public's brain is so rotted they can't actually picture the guy getting caught. The dude with the camera obviously was in the Camaro so thats what I'm thinkin. But I hope the kid got away... FUCK THE PO-LICE.
