Both Hooper and MarkTiarra make good points, break the habit, don't break your routine, take breaks as you normally would when you were smoking, live your life as if you were still smoking.

I used gum, patches, zyban and those inhalers, and cold turkey is the only way I managed.

It's been 8 months now, and the cravings do still hit and hit hard, but I know now I am strong enough to beat them. My in-laws gave it away over 10 years ago, and they still get cravings now and then.

No one I know who has been off that shit for more than a year has said it was easy to beat. Bad news is nicotine is a severely adictive drug, and it will take every ounce of your character to beat it. Good news is it has been done by millions of people, and it can be done by you if you are committed to it.
