International non-governmental and semi-governmental organizations, particularly in the fields of economic and social studies and policy. Since good positions in such a field require extensive experience, both a masters in economics and an MBA could be a good basis for a career leading to the ultimate goal, although both would take rather different paths (economics would likely lead to the research/government path, while an MBA would lead to the private/corporate path, but both can eventually lead to the same kind of work).
What I'm mostly curious about is the usefulness of the content of the studies, i.e. which one is more likely to deliver knowledge that isn't as easily gained through self-study, experience and smaller courses.
