Mike, its my opinion that it doesn't happen. As someone who's seen all sides of the story, I know that a sponsor who shaves is a sponsor who will *quickly* be out of business.

There are PLENTY of times when looking at it from the webmasters point of view that you *know* you're being shaved. If you were able to see the whole story, you'd realize that what you *KNEW* wasn't true.

For example, last week we had "turdo" on here swearing we were shaving cellphone sales from his mommy. His *proof* was that his mom used to convert much better with us, she clicked her link and saw code she didn't understand, and after asking her question on our chat board, having it answered thoroughly, she felt the need to keep asking the same question over and over because she didn't like the answer so we banned her from the board.
If either of them had the ability to see the whole picture, they would see that the entire cellphone market is in the toilet (so conversions are down) they'd see that because of this, we bounce an application to as many carriers as we can to try to make a sale, passing their referal code thru whether they understand it or not (this would be the code she didn't understand) and we're not going to have someone bad mouth us on our chatboard just because they can't understand the
*entire* business.

so thats my answer. Trust your sponsors. if you don't make money with them, they *know* you'll find someone else.
