(Yesterday we talked about salesmanship, I said that I suck at it, but number of signups amaze even if people could sell. Say if you convert 1:500 you should be able to send 4% out of 20k gallery visitors to a sponsor in order to make 1 sale. To keep the conversation rate at 1:500 you cannot really use blind links, so CTR of 4% seems quite a challenge to me. What am I missing here or do most people talk shit and actually only make 1 sale per 80k visits?)
I think TGP guys talk ratios of clicks to sponsors and kinda be vague about how many hits to their site they have. No one is doing 1:500 hits to the gallery. A popular, well bookmarked page may get 1:300 in clicks to the sponsor but thats because the TGP savvy surfer isn't clicking banners so 1:30000 hits to a TGP page would not be unusual.
(unless a TGP dude wants to show stats refuting this)

For example, making a certain site more well known etc? Or is it the same thing that you said yesterday about that Fatwives site which was ugly and yet it sold well...
ugly TGPs use less bandwidth. (will you click ALL the pics of an ugly girl or just the best 2 or so) see what I mean? click 2 pics, move on or click my sponsor.
