I use Old Toms avs advantigizer...you make your sites look anywhere from really cheesy to as complicated as you can dream up. It's all done with the usual tags and the fancier stuff you can do with ssi.....
Plus, he uses Voltars hubbing system which inserts full page ads and anything else you want....
I built around four hundred sites ranging from my early ones, which are damn embarassing to the ones I do know that really look sharp. There is a learning curve...they also have excellent support.
