Bull fucking shit. IE has a LONG history of going its own way. I don't know what the fuck you've been reading, but just because Microsoft says something is so doesn't make it so.
And, since you're taking the side of "video producers" how the fuck can a proprietary video format be standards compliant? It doesn't have any standard but itself.
