The owners have to front the money. If you have no talent, you don't win games, if you don't win games, if you don't win games you don't fill the seats, if you don't fill the seats you don't make money, if you don't make money you can't compete with the large market teams for talent.... and so the cycle goes. Baseball is screwed unless they do something in a hurry.
