Sadly, there's a business chain in the US that one can buy into; it's called "Geek Squad". Many commercials about it as well. Personally, and thankfully, I'll never have to call them. However, there's many computer users out there who get their hard drives filled, without their knowledge, because of the spam they receive. And they'll call someone needing help.
And regardless if ignorant people should be surfing the net or not, should anyone have to waste their time sorting through spam?
Yes, there's a post in this thread about the government approving certain types of spam. I know nothing of that. However, if I started getting 300+ letters in my physical mailbox, as did my neighbors, the USPS would be pissed, and I assure, repercussion would come hammering down.
To answer your original question, however; quote me on this:
"Most people have no idea what they are doing on their computer. Just because we all can post on GFY and make websites, means nothing of our user base."
