I would spend the whole $1000 on just that. Everyone deserves something for xmas rich or poor. Only thing is the poor can't really afford it so why not help when you can. It would show them that there are still caring people on this planet.

or maybe take them out for a meal that is not as expensive then ask them what they would love to do that they have not gotten to do in a long time or ever.. So after we eat we would go do that 1 thing that they wanted. As long as it's financially doable that is.
