Other factors are.. this ain't an Iraq scenario. Iran does have a military and, whether openly stated or otherwise, plenty friends. They also appear to have dispersed "facilities" capable of developing whatever they want to develop - and little chance of "taking out" all of them.
Who knows... but I smell some folks are thinking of a bigger picture (not necessarily a particularly good or bad one) and possibly thinking the timing is ripe for the "attitude" shown by Iranian leadership. If Iran makes a first move or strike - it's not to their advantage, they just lose all cred and any support they currently have. Let's hope other nations don't walk into the provocation bollocks and take a first strike to give them "justification" that is sellable to Iran's friends.
The leadership may be radical, but Iran overall is not to that degree and "human" underneath :-) This is the same country who were very thankful of eg.. US help with their earthquake problems recently and also offered to reciprocate by sending 20 billion barrels of crude to the the US after they found out there may be a severe oil problem after Katrina hit.

Excellent analysis. I quite agree with it all.
