I listen to XM....why? Because they were smart enought pre-install it and give me three months free when I bought my hummer (H2).. . . .love Opie and Anthony....
I don't own stock in either one of them to influence my vote.
The only concern I have for Sirius long term is was Howard worth the reported $500 Million at the end of the day.. .(or whatever the total contract amount is/was).....that is a HUGE risk.....too huge if you ask me....
Howard is on the air.....he had what......10 Million listeners......Sirius is excited because they finally hit the 3 million mark (total)....so how many of those people are into classical music, or hip-hop, jazz, etc....that will never ever listen to Howard...let's say he has a 25% penetration of the 3 Million people....that is only 750,000 people (I am sure that 1 in 4 Sirius subscribers don't actually listen to him, but let's keep that over estimate)....man......that is less than 10% of his audience from before. Less than 10%....WOW!
It will be interesting in the long run.....I am just waiting for the 3rd competitor that will slash the pricing on the units, and change the pricing model for the monthly.....just like the mobile and other industries.....at the end of the day there will be more than these first two players.....and someone is gonna come in with a gurrilla marketing plan and put a hurting on their pricing models, etc.....
Think about it...we use to pay a ton of money for mobile phones ten years ago....also paid a ton of money for minutes...there was nothing included or free...everything was "peak" time. lol......times have changed...now have of the mobile phones are given to you in order to get you as a customer, and the prices have come down majorly....Let's hope there are a couple of major corporations that will come in and want to play in this game...it will be good for all of us (unless you own that stock...lol.)
Just my
