Often refered to as "MOM" by many people in our industry, Joan has lead the charge against stopping child porn and has helped many adult sites shut down people dealing with them that arn't legal. The ASACP, which she is in charge of, does good work in helping law enforcement track down and arrest people involved in illegial underage activities. I personally believe the industry is a better place with them here. I'm not going to say there hasn't been contraversy, but weighing the good against the bad, the ASACP shows up in my mind a lot more positive than negative.
