Christian Identity:
A wide variety of loosely-affiliated groups and churches with a racialized theology. Most of them promote a Euro-centric version of Christianity. Ku Klux Klan:
Rooted in a racialized version of conservative Protestantism, the Klan quickly established a long history of violently attacking its opponents, which have included African Americans, Jews, immigrants, suspected communists, civil rights activists, and those seeking equal rights for women and gay people.
The Order of the Silent Brotherhood:
The group was founded in late September of 1983 at Bob Mathews' farm near Metaline Falls, Washington. Nine friends and neighbors swore an oath there that began "I, as a free Aryan man, hereby swear an unrelenting oath upon the green graves of our sires, upon the children in the wombs of our wives, upon the throne of God almighty, sacred is His name, to join together in holy union with those brothers in this circle and to declare forthright that from this moment on I have no fear of death, no fear of foe; that I have a sacred duty to do whatever is necessary to deliver our people from the Jew and bring total victory to the Aryan race..."
The Lord's Resistance Army (LRA):
Formed in 1987, is a rebel paramilitary group operating mainly in northern Uganda. The group is engaged in an armed rebellion against the Ugandan government in what is now one of Africa's longest-running conflicts. It is led by Joseph Kony, who proclaims himself a spirit medium, and apparently wishes to establish a state based on his unique interpretation of Biblical millenarianism. The LRA have been accused of widespread human rights violations, including the abduction of civilians, the use of child soldiers and a number of massacres
God's Army:
An armed revolutionary group that opposes the military government of Myanmar and advocates a doctrine vaguely based on principles of Christianity. They are based in Thailand, and conducted a string of audacious guerrilla actions?for example, seizing the embassy of Myanmar in Bangkok?during the 1990s and early 2000s.
The Nazis :
Germany after World War I was regarded as a godless, secular, materialistic republic which betrayed all of Germany?s traditional values and religious beliefs. Christians saw the social fabric of their community unravelling and the Nazis promised to restore order by attacking godlessness, homosexuality, abortion, liberalism, prostitution, pornography, obscenity, and so forth.
