Good question: ASACP will be researching parental control systems this year to learn what is available. I am attending a maintream roundtable about ICRA this month.

I checked in the reality of .kids. It seems this could not happen for years. Plus, since .kids.us was not successful, it is less likely to even be addressed by ICANN. In addition, from my understanding because .kids does not translate globally, it would not be a global solution which is an ICANN requirement

As far as starting one, this would be expensive and time-consuming and ASACP does not have the financial or staff resources for this. However, some people in the industry are the preliminary stage of determining what they could develop.
parential control software amen , that and taking the computer out of the bedroom and into the family room are the only ways to truly protect kids.We also have to remember which seems to be forgotten naked pics dont hurt children, monsters who hang out in chatrooms, blogs , myspace etc hurt kids. That has to driven home.
