>>We only know what the media filtered to us and what was filtered to them. We don't know what their original story was at all.
3. First their story was that they were going from New York to Miami. When someone pointed out their STOLEN Illinois license plates, their story changed to "we're going from Chicago to Miami".
>>The brother of one of the "terrorists" said that it was his license plate that was quote unquote stolen. Not for nothing but they are New Yorkers and I'll bet you there are a lot of cars in NY with license plates that don't necessarily belong to them - it doesn't make those people terrorists.
4. They blew through a toll booth and ran from the police for 8 miles afterwards.
>>They only fled once they realized that the police were chasing them. It's wrong but action doesn't in and of itself mean they are terrorists.
To be honest my biggest beef is that the south doesn't exactly have a huge record of tolerance to people of color or differing nationality. I think the lady overreacted and as a NY'er I can see this happening.
What's even more wrong about the situation is that how many man hours we paid for our government to interrogate these people and close of a major interstate because of an "overheard conversation". Sounds a little like a witch hunt to me.
