Ok, I'm gonna get FLAMED for this one.
I'm Canadian. Born and bred here. Our culture is a little bit strange beacuse we're close to the US, we do tend to watch a lot of American TV, but I don't like watching the news on american channels. I'm not talking about CNN cause that's like the BBC World, it's the cream of the crop in news. But I'm talking about national or regional news. Sometimes the views are so strange on international happenings that I sit there and shake my head.
One funny show that we have here in Rick Mercer speaks to Americans and this is hilarious. It's basically like Jay Leno's "Jay Walking" thing. But he talks to people in top Universities and all that stuff. One that was too funny was when he talked to a Professor of International Politics. He asked something like "Did you hear that Canada's Prime Minister Tim Horton got a double double?"which is a joke on a comercial for a donut shop. The Professor never clues in that Canada's Prime Minister name is not Tim Horton.
It's just a whole joke on what we believe Americans think of the world.
