I was lucky never to have gotten started with IBalls either. Back then there was no CCBill so I ended up starting with my own merchant account. Then later moved to CCBill within a year or so.
I tried to get started with IBill but like BVF said up a few posts, it seemed like they wanted your first born kid and your right arm.
