Do any of you guys pay to have SEO people get your site indexed at the top of Google and other major search engines? What is the best and most efficient way of getting a website indexed and ranked with low to medium keyword competition?

The only way now to get good page rank in google is to have original content and quality or authoritative links to your site. The days of the article farms, link farms is over.
Any SEO worth their salt will tell you to build blogs and post original content with links to specific products or services that you offer so that the keywords on the blog and the targeted page match.
Even still, SEO may bring more traffic but not always paying traffic. Ads still are the major source of traffic still.Comment

Learn to do it yourself, seo for low competition terms isn't particularly hard. Once you learn to do it yourself (and what works/doesn't) you can begin to outsource it to people - otherwise you're taking risks in hiring people and them harming your money site if you don't understand what they are doing and can't ask the right questions.
No such thing as "pure whitehat." Whitehat = getting links completely naturally from good content. Anyone you pay to do seo for you is just a particular version of blackhat/greyhat and in turn there is always a risk of something going wrong with the site/seo.Last edited by bobthebuilder01; 04-12-2011, 05:15 PM.Comment

I subscribe to Seo Moz. It is a SEO software site that really helped me with my seo. I agree that you can do alot of your own seo work, it just takes effort and time.
