Yeah, that's expensive as shit. Bummer you got screwed on that one. They get a decent amount of traffic, but it definitely helps to research and find sites with a good ratio of traffic to advertising rates.

More efficient might simply be uploading sample videos. Even with all their traffic, it would take an EXTREME amount of conversions to make that up.

I bet your traffic has increased from your pr ranking being lifted which you couldn't have done alone as fast without buying traffic. There are more advantages of buying advertising than the immediate conversions. Only tip is to try another source or product if you think your product isn't converting well enough with their traffic or another site/product with them. Try to buy traffic of your niche if site is variety pick on one. There is no quick cure for traffic although buying traffic can be used to further the back linking. The negative thing about buying traffic is your second dip as anyone that has pulled out their credit card on the site your buying advertising or traffic from is already in a members area it is up to your site to make someone else pay for your product over the last one offered. So cheap traffic options don't seem so bad as long as your buying real clicking surfers from preferred countries. T the more targeted the visitor the better of course but buying 100k hits from a brand site is same as 100k from various locations both options have different advantages. I certainly wouldn't rubbish the provider if i wasn't happy with my conversions or my traffic supplier i would try something else. If a provider couldn't supply what they sold i would jump up and down but you have given not enough information about what you were trying to sell as we cannot side with anyone that doesn't make a case for themselves. Previous negative posts about xhamster has been what is asked to submit movies and what they charge to advertise doesn't really make them big bad wolves just big enough for you to know what the big players are asking for these days and setting the benchmark on retail price points.
Remember enormous bandwidth probably gives them little choice. If your site has any advertising spaces you can justify your own pricing with your associated costs too.
