    Twitter?????? Yes or No??????

Is having a twitter account really helpful to maintaining an online presence? Or does it just get washed over by the countless tweets posted every freaking second? I'm just wondering if i should commit the time to make a twitter. Is it worth it? I would love your advice or story

This is the mainstream forum, so I will give you my mainstream answer: Yes, it is worth having a presence, just make sure that you are offering something worthwhile to your followers.

If this were posted in another forum, I would say that people as a whole are apprehensive about following anything adult related unless it leans heavily towards the mainstream.

People that care about you and what you have to say will be able to filter out the noise to hear what you have to say - the trick is making them care about you and what you have to say.

I just re-read my post and it seemed a bit ambiguous, so let me try and clarify:

It is not worth having a Twitter account if you are not offering something meaningful to your followers. So many Twitterers (I think that's what they're called) just barf out information several times a day, which is fine if you're a big-time celebrity and people would sift through your garbage given the chance...but for everyday people, engagement is the key. Your followers need to feel like they are getting something by following you - whether that is insight into your personal life, the ability to communicate with you more directly or whatever.

If you can come up with a decent approach and have the time to put into it without just making your Twitter feed a regurgitation of your Facebook posts, then by all means, go for it. If not, your time is probably better spent elsewhere.

          I agree.

          Couple of tips:
If you're going to post NSFW content make sure to check "Mark my media as containing sensitive content" under https://twitter.com/settings/account

Do NOT use a NSFW picture for your Twitter avatar and/or Twitter profile background.

If someone is impersonating you (and they will) DO NOT ask your followers to report the account. Only YOU or your legal representative can do that

And please please PLEASE refrain from tweeting:

          - Pictures of your breakfast/lunch/dinner
