currently having problems with a host that has disabled all my domains for one false dmc, so looking for a new host. I work 100% legit, n if some gal wants to change her mind, or some relative doesn't like it, or some competition wants to cause problems, that is what court is for, not my host.

Thanks j3rkules, talked to them, they can't meet my needs. I don't want to see dmca unless it is court ordered. Your requirement of a lawyer is better than my current host, but any flim flam can pay a Lawyer to say what ever they pay them to say.Comment

You obviously have NO clue what DMCA is all about. It is ALL about copyright owners to file a DMCA notices to those breaching the DMCA act in any way ( read stealing or using any unauthorized content). It is NOT not any court in any land which will issue DMCA notices. So if the offender ignores the resquest, then his host is next in line to be in breach and because they are usually big guerillas they will delete or delist such offender, otherwise ....and now wait for it... Any court in any jurisdiction which is a signanory to DMCA has the obligation to charge such offender or offending host protecting such offender.
..and some went to jail...

I indeed understand dmca, any fraud can claim copyright and the domain is automatically in the wrong. Unless of course the domain is owned by a muti millionaire then they can infringe all they want. If it is over one isolated issue, the issue usually can be mitigated by the content's removal -- if it is a legitimate error or change done in the due course of business by a hosting client.
There has been a rash of fraudulent DMCA complaints also -- seems negative SEO can be accomplished with DMCA.
Be careful what you ask for you might just get it. DMCA complaints are being abused and their creditability is very open to counterclaim and question of validity.Comment

Thanks guys, Every piece of content on any of my pages, I have either paid for or rendered services for. Everything is always 100% and documented. I have been studying a lot on dmca thanks to this nonsense. Anyhow it seems offshore no longer offers protection, as the US has been negotiating dmca into several treaties. And worse I didn't realize we lost Freedom of the Press to 9-11. I think we can call our current government Corporate Dictatorship, but certainly not Constitutional.
Chaz, that is at least respectful, and much more appreciated than what just happened to me. But I have an ideal to put out to all hosts, a compromise per say. Instead of shutting a domain down, if there is no reply, delete the contested content, until the domain has a chance to prove ownership or accept responsibility...Comment
